University of London students last week pressed education minister Margaret Hodge to recognise the high cost of living in London as part of the student finance review.
Four sabbatical officers wrote to Ms Hodge: "Current London weighting on student loans is just 23 per cent, when figures clearly show the added costs of studying in the capital are at least 29 per cent."
