A dozen Steinway pianos worth almost £250,000 have arrived at Liverpool Hope University's new Performing Arts Centre. The delivery makes the university's music department an "all-Steinway school", the second in England after Royal Holloway, University of London. Other institutions internationally that are equipped only with pianos made by the famous manufacturer include Yale School of Music and the Juilliard School in New York. The best of the bunch at Liverpool Hope is a Steinway D Concert Grand, worth £110,000.
