A training scheme to help people hit by the recession has been launched by Leeds Metropolitan University. Leeds Met Business Start-up is offering free training and support to individuals looking to launch businesses in the Yorkshire and Humber region. The programme will include a four-day training package, mentoring and access to office space. Earlier this year, Leeds Met was awarded more than £500,000 by Hefce's Challenge Investment Fund to devise proposals to mitigate the effects of the recession.
