A lecture on 'Climate in the 21st century: how severely will it change?' will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 23 November.

Organised by the European Parliament's Scientific Technology Options Assessment (STOA), under the patronage of Josep Borell, President of the European Parliament, the event features a lecture by Professor Guy Brasseur, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg. This will be followed by an open discussion moderated by Dr Peter Stern, senior editor of Science Magazine.

A workshop on the related topic of 'CO2 emission reduction' is scheduled just before the STOA annual lecture, as well as an exhibition by the Joint Research Centre on these topics. The workshop will examine issues such as cooperation, agricultural and housing issues, and will also discuss some strategic aspects in relation to the European Research Area and the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
