Dublin takes foot-and-mouth precautions
Dublin City University held a “virtual” degree ceremony on Saturday (March 24) as a precaution following the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Eire. University officers attended the Dublin convocation, while students were invited to view the event over the internet.
Iranian student leader detained
A second leader of Iran’s biggest student reform group was arrested on Sunday (March 25) and interrogated by the Tehran Revolutionary Court. The detention of Ebrahim Sheikh follows that of Ali Ashari, of the Office for Fostering Unity. Earlier this month, the hard-line judiciary banned Iran’s Freedom Movement, the nation’s only opposition group.
