US and UK cancel Ugandan scholarships
Britain and the United States have cancelled 80 scholarships for Ugandan army officers to train at their military colleges. Diplomatic sources in Kampala said the scholarships were withdrawn ahead of a United Nations report that accuses Uganda of recruiting child soldiers to fight in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mexican law students blockade faculty
Students occupying the law faculty at Mexico City's Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México say they will continue to block lectures until semesters are extended. The students have papered the walls and windows of the faculty dean's office with their proposals, arguing it was the only way they could be sure he would read them.
