Labour's evolution

"IS NEW Labour a new political party?" and "has ideological content been lost in the presentation" are two of the hypotheses being tested by an historian at Kingston University.

Brian Brivati, a reader in history, will spend two years looking at the effects of modernisation on Labour's general election campaigns since 1945.

A database on each general election since 1945 will go on the Internet.
