Kofi's bound to be impressed

Those celebrating Burns Night this week included Kofi Annan, secretary-general of the United Nations, who now has The Complete Poems and Songs of Robert Burns specially bound by award-winning Aberdeen University binder Mark Ramsden. The Scottish Executive commissioned Mr Ramsden after seeing his work displayed at the university, and presented the book to Mr Annan when he gave a Robert Burns memorial lecture in New York. Mr Ramsden, who studied bookbinding at Grimsby College of Art and Design and the London College of Printing, has had his work exhibited in the British Library and the Museum of Bookbinding in Brussels.
