JRC calls for expressions of interest for drug monitoring

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has called for expressions of interest for contractors interested in monitoring veterinary drug residues.

The IRMM, part of the JRC, is inviting expressions of interest from contractors wishing to be included on a list of potential service providers to carry out analyses for stability monitoring of certain reference materials: veterinary drug residues and related substances. As the need arises, service providers entered on this list may be invited to submit formal quotations for one or several analyses.

The areas involved are: - bovine muscle (lyophilised) - diethylstilbestrol in reconstituted material;

- bovine liver (lyophilised) - trenbolone in reconstituted material; - milk powder (lyophilised) - oxytetracycline in reconstituted material; - bovine urine (lyophilised) - clenbuterol and salbutamol in reconstituted material; - bovine liver - clenbuterol in reconstituted material - bovine eye - clenbuterol in reconstituted material - pig liver - chlortetracycline in reconstituted material; - pig muscle - chlortetracycline in reconstituted material; - pig kidney - chlortetracycline in reconstituted material; - chicken muscle - ronidazole and dimetridazole as well as the respective 2-hydroxy matobolites in reconstituted material.

The text of the call, available from the reference below, also includes information on the expected extent of the measurement series as well as the frequency of the measurements.

Service providers shall prepare reports on the stability monitoring comprising: a description of the method, calibration principle and data, raw and final data with indication of the sample unit. Reports should also contain any observations that might be important in assessing the validity of the material.

The file of potential suppliers will remain valid for three years from the publication of this notice. This period may be extended following a further call for expressions of interest.
