Essex University is to launch foundation degrees wholly online and year-round in partnership with US private education and training firm Kaplan. The first course, business studies, starts in July. Kaplan Open Learning, a newly created affiliated college of Essex, will deliver courses, with degrees awarded by the university. Students can upgrade to a bachelors degree by completing a third-year top-up course.
