Students at the University of East Anglia were shocked this week to discover freshers' week was being hijacked by tutors who had the audacity to begin lectures on Monday morning.
More than 1,000 students signed a petition to protest at having to attend classes in a week usually dedicated to getting familiar with the union bar. A university statement said there was still plenty of time to pursue leisure activities.
