Within the framework of the Fifth Framework Programme 'Stratfeed' project, an international symposium on 'Food and feed safety in the context of prion diseases' will take place in Namur, Belgium, from 16 to 18 June.
The event is being organised in collaboration with the Belgian Food Agency, the Commission's Joint Research Centre, and Agrobiopôle. Its purpose is to give an overview of the latest scientific achievements in food and feed safety in the context of prion diseases (transmissible spongiform encephalopathy - TSE).
The symposium will focus on the current status of TSE problems and legislative aspects in Europe and the US, on analytical methods for food and feed, and on prevention and technical aspects.
