International scientific conference on ambient intelligence, Finland

An international scientific conference on ambient intelligence, Ambience 05, will take place in Tampere, Finland, on 19 and 20 September.

The first in a series of 'Ambience' conference, this event will focus on ambient intelligence including intelligent textiles, smart garments, and intelligent homes and living environments. Technology and technical innovations, design methods, consumer behaviour and preferences, physiology and well-being are some of the topics for research papers and presentations.

The conference programme will consist of a plenary session with international keynote speakers from companies and institutions with break-through developments within the conference topics, followed by a series of parallel sessions for presenting scientific papers, which will be verified by a scientific committee. Poster presentations will be organised during the conference. The conference will close with a panel discussion that summarizes the current aims and trends within the international intelligent ambience research.
