International conference on 'converging sciences'

October 14, 2004

Brussels, 13 Oct 2004

The University of Trento and Microsoft Research are jointly organising an international conference on the theme of 'converging sciences', to be held in Trento, Italy, on 16 and 17 December.

Given the current convergence of disciplines and technologies and the changing relationship between basic research and the industrial world, this event aims to define a roadmap and strategic vision for future (interdisciplinary) research in life sciences, information technologies, computational physics, bio-engineering and pharmacology.

To achieve this goal, the conference will gather individuals from academic institutions and the relevant industry sectors, as well as the politicians responsible for developing research strategies, and actors from the main funding agencies.
