Students at University College, Northampton, are to help out at the London Marathon on Sunday. But, as recruitment drives go, The Diary can't help wondering whether something a little less sweaty and smelly would be more appealing.
Steve Avil, acting head of podiatry at the college, said:
"Runners will be limping into our marquee to get much-needed leg massage, blisters popped, strained ankles looked at and damaged nails removed. It is a fantastic experience for our year-three students, who get hands-on experience at treating fresh injuries and even get to treat a few celebrities."
