Immune modulating therapeutic methods of treating infectious diseases - Brussels workshop

A workshop on non antimicrobial based strategies in the treatment of infectious diseases will take place on 23 May in Brussels.

Experts in the field of immune modulating therapeutic approaches will gather to discuss existing and future methods of treating infectious diseases. Areas for discussion will include:


-perspectives from the past: autogenous vaccination as a model for the development of modern non antimicrobial based therapeutics;
-molecular markers in the epidemiological studies of the antibiotic resistant strains;
-autogenous vaccines for the treatment of infectious diseases in sheep;
-autogenous vaccines in the treatment of acne;
-the potential impact of staphylococcal surface molecules in infection and therapy;
-peptide superantigen antagonists: A novel approach in the treatment of infectious diseases;
-regulation of immune response to hepatitis B virus vaccine by monoclonal antibodies.
