If UK pay talks fail, Scotland may go solo

The Association of University Teachers Scotland has stressed the importance of the forthcoming Westminster elections despite the devolution of higher education. But it has also flagged up the prospect of Scottish pay negotiations if United Kingdom pay bargaining "disintegrates". Delegates to the AUT Scottish council at Edinburgh University unanimously backed an executive motion urging support for the AUT's campaign to highlight the value of universities in the run-up to the general election.
