Petten (NL): Following a request by EC-EURATOM and US-DOE, the Institute for Energy and Argon National Laboratory started an initiative to collaborate in the area of new future reactor designs (Generation IV).
The proposals concern special aspects of heavy liquid metal cooling, the regular and emergency decay heat removal in heavy metal cooled-reactors, neutronics calculations of gas-cooled and heavy metal-cooled reactors, air ingress into molten LWR bundles and a possible system study of hydrogen generation with reactors.
