Barbara Maher , formerly at the University of East Anglia is to be appointed a chair in physical geography.


Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College

Mark Hunt has been appointed deputy director at the institute; currently a member of London Guildhall University’s Senior Management Group and head of the Sir John Cass department of art. Mark Hunt, a ceramicist, has contributed regularly to the work of the Group for Learning in Art and Design and is currently vice chair of the Council for Higher Education in Art & Design.
