Should we worry about the Arts and Humanities Research Council? Perhaps. The Government's official funder of arts and humanities research ought, surely, to have a good grasp of cultural events. But while the rest of the world celebrates 250 years since the birth of Mozart this year, the AHRC has adopted an alternative approach: opting instead to commemorate the composer's 200th birthday in its January newsletter.
