Universities and colleges have been given more than £91 million for student-support initiatives next year, a 5 per cent increase on last year.
For 2002-03, the Higher Education Funding Council for England will give universities £91,115,500 to support student hardship and bursary funds. In 2001-02, universities received £86.7 million. Universities must monitor how the money is used and must submit information for 2001-02 by November 6.
