The trendiest subjects were unveiled this week by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. Health-related subjects saw rises of up to 12 per cent in the number of people starting degrees in nursing, pre-clinical medicine and pharmaceutical subjects. Music, politics and physics saw numbers rise by more than 10 per cent.
