Hard times

Software failure expert Bev Littlewood of City University had much to be depressed about this week. Not only does he think we are all in imminent danger of disaster from computer failure in our aeroplanes and four-wheel drive cars, as he told the annual British Association meeting, but also his son has just wiped everything off the hard disk of his laptop.
