Graduate jobless rate falls

The number of graduates with first degrees who were unemployed six months after graduation fell by almost 40 per cent, from 12,510 to 7,680, between 1995 and 2000, according to figures released by higher education minister Margaret Hodge. Figures for students graduating last year are due to be released in June.
