Glittering Prizes

Goldsmiths College has awarded honorary DLits of the University of London to Harold Pinter, writer, poet, director and political activist, and Neil MacGregor, director of the National Gallery.

Painter Ian Stephenson will be awarded an honorary degree of doctor of letters by the University of Durham in December.

David Moore, reader in physiology at the University of Oxford, has been awarded the 1998 Thomas Simm Littler Prize of the British Society of Audiology in recognition of his contributions to understanding the development of the auditory system under normal and abnormal conditions.
