Germany funds partner searches in Central and Eastern Europe

Brussels, 26 March 2002

The German Working group for industrial research teams (AiF) is opening a contact office in Slovenia, the 12th country from Central and Eastern Europe to participate in the scheme, which helps medium sized enterprises in Germany find research and development (R&D) partners in the region.

Since 1996 the AiF contact offices have been supporting medium sized enterprises in the search for partners and overseeing joint projects. Germany companies are able to use the service free of charge when seeking collaboration in the Baltic States, Belarus, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary and Uzbekistan.

The AiF also holds regular contact seminars both inside and outside Germany. Transnational research projects can then apply for support under the AiF's 'innovation expertise of medium sized enterprises' programme, funded by the Federal Ministry for economy and technology.
