The authorities at the National University in Libreville, Gabon, have expelled eight students. The leaders of the National Student Union were alleged to have manhandled academics who continued to teach after students began a boycott of lectures. The students are objecting to poor living conditions in their residence and a lack of laboratory teaching aids.
