From the campus to the catwalk

Brown jackets, that sartorial staple of campuses the length and breadth of the British Isles, are the must-have fashion item for men this season, The Times announced last week.

Its fashion writer even reveals that a brown corduroy jacket from that house of haute couture Marks and Spencer is a hip choice and costs only £79. Fortunately, if you happen to have a jacket that "hangs off you casually, as if you have been wearing it for ages", you won't even need to buy a new one, for that's exactly the look all those urban types are striving to achieve. Who said academics are badly dressed?
