December 19, 2002

Brussels, 18 Dec 2002

UKISHELP is organising a free IST information day, which will take place in London on 11 February 2003.

UKISHELP is a DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) funded service for UK organisations that wish to apply for project funding under the EU Information Society Technology (IST) programmes.

The event will run throughout the day and will focus on the new IST programme as a whole as well as the 1st call for proposals under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). Speakers are expected to include Commission officials and members from the UK National Contact Point (NCP) for the IST programme. The draft programme includes sessions on the following areas:

-The new instruments;

-Partnership and consortium agreements;

-1st call strategic objectives;

-Proposal submission and evaluation;

-Partner search.

Potential participants are asked to contact UKISHELP prior to the event, about topics they would like to see addressed on the day. If the schedule for the day is unable to include these topics for discussion, the event will finish with an open forum, which will act as a platform where participants can raise additional topics for discussion.
Participants can send topic suggestions for the information day to Nina Kitson at:
