* A researcher at the University of Huddersfield has been awarded the title of PhD researcher of the decade by China. Dr Xiangqian "Jayne" Jiang, an expert in surface measurement, received her award at a ceremony at Huangzhong University last week. Dr Jiang's dissertation on surface measurement was chosen from 10,000 completed by technology and engineering students since 1990. She will continue as principal research fellow in Huddersfield's engineering department's centre for position technologies.
