Fears over funding of foundation degrees

Foundation degree course leaders have challenged the Higher Education Funding Council for England over levels of support for the programmes. Many worry that Hefce has restricted the number of funded foundation degree places this year, a conference at Leicester University heard.

Graeme Rosenberg, Hefce's foundation degrees project manager, told the conference that the funding council was reviewing the degrees and investigating the costs of providing the courses.
