The Culture Department has appointed the UK's first director of Culture Online, charged with increasing digital access to the UK's heritage.
Jonathan Drori, managing director of Thoughtsmith consultancy, and a former chief of BBC Online, has worked on digital services for education, including websites and interactive programming. Culture Online projects will begin to go on the internet in 2003.
