An event assessing the progress of 19 research projects on the Aral Sea is to take place from 4 to 8 April in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
The event is being organised by INTAS, an independent International Association formed by the European Commission, the Member States and other countries acting to preserve and promote the scientific potential of the newly independent states (NIS) through East-West scientific cooperation. Co-funding the event are the French national research centre (CNRS) and the German research community (DFG).
The aim of the event is to present the preliminary results of current projects, inform other scientists about the research being undertaken and to stimulate the exchange of ideas. The 19 projects cover the fields of chemistry, life sciences and the environment.
