September 21, 2005

Brussels, 20 Sep 2005

An open debate on 'ERRIN: past, present and future' will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 26 September.

The European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) is designed to help regions participate fully and effectively in the European Research Area. ERRIN is co-financed by the European Commission's DG Research and eight European regions through the 'Regions of Knowledge' Pilot Action. This meeting will provide the Network with an opportunity to look back over a year of success and crucially to reflect together on where the Network should go in the future.

The event will feature speeches by Mr Gerhard Stahl, Secretary General of the Committee of the Regions, and Mrs Mette Quinn, official at DG Enterprise responsible for the INNONET Call that will be published on 5 October.
