The European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) is funding basic research into health and environmental effects of chemicals. One of the governing principles of the Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) is that research will be carried out by internationally recognised, independent research experts. A science panel consisting of experts from academia and research institutes will oversee the programme.
The current call for grant applications is in the area of 'human exposure and tiered risk assessment'.
