European across grids conference

The first European across grids conference will take place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, on 13 and 14 February.

The objective of the event is to foster collaboration between participants in European and other grid projects, as well as researchers, developers, practitioners and potential users of grid technologies.

Main topics for discussion at the conference will include:
- overview of main European grid projects;
- presentation of hot research problems in grid technologies;
- examples of grid applications;
- grid infrastructure, middleware, quality of service and other tools;
- other grid related topics.

The event agenda will involve presentations of peer reviewed research papers, keynote addresses from leading grid technology researchers, poster sessions, and a user forum that intends to stimulate a debate on the social implications of grid technologies in various fields such as medical research, corporate life and business or public administration.

Among the keynote speakers at the event will be Miguel Angel Ríos Fernández, Secretary General for research and development for the Galician regional government, and Mario Campolargo from the Commission's Information Society DG.
