EU-JAPAN industrial and environmental biotechnology summit, Japan

The EU-JAPAN Industrial & Environmental Biotechnology (IEB) Summit will take place in Yokohama, Japan, from 3 to 9 September.

Organised by EuropaBio and the Japan Biotech Association (JBA), the summit is part of the BioJapan 2005 event.

The main goal of the summit is to promote industrial and environmental biotechnology as one of the most important worldwide industrial sectors, allowing sustainable and cost-effective bioproduction of pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, materials and fuels. The event is also intended to stimulate collaboration between European and Japanese research institutes and industries.

The core of the summit will be formed by a 2-day partnering event with the focus on IEB in Yokohama.

Also linked to the IEB Summit and BioJapan 2005, the EU-Japan Business Dialogue Round Table meeting on botechnology and life sciences will take place.
