EP Briefing 2002-12-16: EU - Ukraine Scientific Co-operation

Carlos WESTENDORP Y CABEZA (PES, E) will also be recommending the approval of an agreement for scientific and technological co-operation between the EU and Ukraine. This Agreement was signed on 4 July 2002 in Copenhagen. It will be concluded for an initial period ending 31 December 2002 and will be renewable by common agreement for additional periods of five years. The Agreement is based on the principles of mutual benefit, reciprocal opportunities for access to programmes and activities, non-discrimination, and the effective protection of intellectual property, and equitable sharing of intellectual property rights.
