English: just the tonic

Pop Idol hopeful Darius Danesh - who was ridiculed for his cocky, self-assured performance on sister television show Pop Stars - has revealed how he was on the brink of breakdown after his experience. He was so depressed, he turned his back on music and decided to concentrate on his English degree at Edinburgh University.

Darius will sing "Something inside so strong" on tomorrow's ITV show, when viewers will chose two of the ten performers to go forward to the grand final.
