Technology transfer in the western section of the German federal state Mecklenburg Vorpommern is to receive a boost with funding of 225 million euro from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
A number of leading research centres are already situated in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. With the EIB funding, a number of enterprises will be built in the vicinity, thus facilitating the transfer of research results to the production of new products and new production processes.
On signing the agreement, Vice President of the EIB Wolfgang Roth underlined that the funding would provide advantageous conditions for the region, and allow western Mecklenburg Vorpommern to create substantial economies of interest. It will also create the conditions necessary for encouraging further investments, he said.
