Brussels, 28 Sep 2004
The European Collaborative for Science, Industry and Technology Exhibitions (ECSITE) will hold its annual conference in Barcelona, Spain, from 4 to 6 November.
ECSITE, an organisation representing science and technology (S&T) centres and museums throughout Europe, aims to promote public understanding of S&T by coordinating and improving the activities of science centres and museums, natural history museums, zoos and aquariums.
The conference will address three main topics:
- global versus local - how can we approach the universality of science from the locality of each of our museums?
- cutting-edge science - is it a democratic requirement that the results of European funded research should be communicated to the public?
- critical evaluation of the new Museu de la Ciencia de la Fundacio 'la Caixa' in Barcelona.
