EC workshop on geographic information and information systems

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is organising the tenth edition of the EC geographic information and geographic information systems (GI & GIS) workshop, to take place in Warsaw, Poland, from 23 to 25 June.

Entitled 'ESDI (European spatial data infrastructure): the state of the art', the event will aim to:
- measure the development of SDI initiatives across Europe (at local, regional, cross border, national and European levels);
- identify potential problems, bottlenecks to be investigated at European level;
- identify solutions and strategies to be adopted to guarantee the ongoing development of a full comprehensive and efficient ESDI using existing initiatives as building blocks.

A call for papers is also open to cover topics such as institutional funding, services, data harmonisation, technical developments and EU funded GI & GIS projects.
