"Anthropology and development" days will be delivered in schools across the UK by Durham University postgraduates in a bid to raise awareness of the discipline among secondary-school pupils. They will teach pupils about issues such as poverty, free trade, sustainable development and economic dependency. The project, funded by the Higher Education Academy, will also offer the postgraduates practical teacher training. The first anthropology day will be held at the MacMillan Academy in Middlesbrough in October.
