Durham in cuts row

A row has erupted at Durham University over plans to axe the counselling studies department, part of the School of Education. Students have accused the administration of refusing to discuss the plans. The university said students were being kept informed and those enrolled on counselling courses would be able to continue their studies elsewhere at the university.
