Dolly technology sold for Pounds 20 million to US

This week's sale of the technology behind Dolly, the first cloned sheep, to an American biotech company should bring more than Pounds 20 million to the institute where she was born, it is estimated. The purchase of Roslin Bio-Med by California's Geron Corporation, which sponsored the scientists who last year cultivated human embryonic stem cells, should accelerate the development of new transplantation therapies for numerous degenerative diseases.
