Cumbria gets first v-c

The first vice-chancellor of the proposed University of Cumbria will be Chris Carr, the principal of St Martin's College in Lancaster, it was announced this week.

Professor Carr, who has been principal of St Martin's for nine years, will become chief executive designate of the university project from August.
