* A new strategic alliance and participation task force has been set up to develop higher education in Cumbria.
The alliance has been forged by the University of Central Lancashire, St Martin's College, the Cumbria Institute of Arts and Cumbria Learning and Skills Council. It is funded by £100,000 from the Cumbria LSC and aims to establish links between local higher and further education institutions and schools.
