Coventry takes lead

Coventry University is to lead a Pounds 800,000 project aimed at helping development of electronic guidance and navigation systems for cars and trucks.

Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Coventry's work will address user requirement and manufacturing costs of incorporating these advanced technologies, called telematics, in vehicles. The EPSRC project also involves Warwick University, Bolton Institute and Loughborough University. Industrial partners include Rover, IBM and GEC-Marconi.
