* Sheffield University has not handed over English-language tuition to Kaplan ("Private firms tighten grip", April 21). In setting up Sheffield International College with Kaplan in 2006, the intention was always to provide English-language tuition in-house through its English Language Teaching Centre. This provides professional language training and the English-language modules of Sheffield International College's foundation and pre-masters courses. There are no plans to change arrangements for the English language centre.
