CORDIS Contacts service: a new who's who of European Research

July 9, 2002

Brussels, 08 July 2002

CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is publishing a comprehensive set of contact details in a new searchable service dedicated to research information support at European level.

'CORDIS contacts' provides direct access to local assistance and advice networks, which provide information about any aspect of research and innovation programmes. Broad support networks are fully covered and searchable by country including Central and Eastern Europe.

In addition, the service is a useful tool to locate officials or committee members in charge of research programmes within European institutions. Relevant contacts and additional links can help with information about calls for proposals, partner searches, bid preparation, dissemination of results, patenting as well as the financing of further developments.

This new service, based on the contacts database, follows an innovative trend of building up user-friendly services, including search interfaces and value added information, from an existing database. Further developments are currently under way to launch complementary database related services.
